School Operations Manager

Smile Education are recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to work across a handful of School sites, based primarily at their main site in West Bromwich.

This is a full-time role supporting the effective operational running of the organisation, with a strong focus on health and safety, compliance, HR processes, and site management support.

This is a non-student-facing role, ideal for an experienced operations, facilities, compliance, or education-based professional who is confident managing processes, audits, reporting, and working collaboratively with senior leaders.
The RoleAs an Operations Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the School sites. You will work closely with the Site Manager, Business Manager, and HR Manager to ensure compliance, safety standards, and operational procedures are maintained.
Responsibilities
Leading on Health & Safety processes, including reports, audits, compliance checks, and corrective actions
Supporting Site Managers with operational tasks and site-based requirements
Completing reports, monitoring actions, and ensuring improvements are implemented
Supporting HR processes, including absence management meetings and related administration
Working alongside the Business Manager and HR Manager to deliver key operational objectives
Ensuring policies and procedures are followed across all sites
Identifying areas for improvement and supporting effective solutions
Maintaining accurate records and documentation
Providing general operational support to senior management teamsRequirements
Previous experience working in an Operations Manager, Site Manager, Facilities Manager, Compliance Manager, or similar role
Strong understanding of Health & Safety processes, audits, and compliance requirements
Experience managing reports, investigations, and corrective actions
Knowledge of HR processes, including absence management
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Strong communication skills with the ability to work with a range of stakeholders
Experience within an education, public sector, or similar environment is desirable
Enhanced DBS Certificate or willingness to obtain one
Fully vetted and available to start when required
