How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a growing major projects team delivering complex MEICA engineering schemes across the UK.
This is a senior commercial leadership role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of large, technically challenging infrastructure projects from pre-contract through to final account. As the business continues to expand its major projects portfolio, you'll also play a key role in shaping commercial processes, mentoring team members and helping to build a high-performing commercial function.
This role is ideal for an experienced Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Manager with a strong background in engineering, utilities, water, energy or industrial infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities
·Lead the commercial management of major MEICA projects, ensuring strong financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
·Take ownership of projects from tender stage through to final account.
·Oversee project controls, including cost forecasting, reporting, change management and commercial risk.
·Work closely with operational and project delivery teams to develop and implement commercial strategy.
·Lead commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
·Support tender submissions, estimating activities and commercial risk reviews.
·Develop and implement commercial best practice, governance and reporting processes.
·Mentor and support the development of commercial team members.
·Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted commercial advisor.
·Ensure projects are delivered profitably while maintaining high standards of contractual compliance.

    About You
You'll be an experienced commercial professional with a proven track record delivering large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects.
    You'll ideally have:
·Significant experience in Commercial Management within MEICA, engineering, utilities or major infrastructure projects.
    ·Experience managing projects valued at £50 million+.
·Strong knowledge of project controls, cost management and financial reporting.
·Excellent understanding of commercial contracts and contractual frameworks.
·Proven ability to manage commercial risk and maximise project performance.
·Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
·The ability to work independently while supporting and developing others.
    ·Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
·Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
·Chartered status is desirable but not essential.

    What's on Offer
    ·£80,000-£90,000 salary depending on experience.
    ·Hybrid working following probation.
    ·Private healthcare.
    ·Company pension scheme.
    ·Death in Service benefit.
·25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
·Option to purchase up to 5 additional days annual leave.
    ·Employee Assistance Programme.
·High street and online retail discounts.
    ·Employee referral bonus.
·Ongoing professional development and clear career progression.
·Opportunity to work on nationally significant engineering and infrastructure projects.

    The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation with a strong pipeline of major engineering projects. You'll have the chance to influence commercial strategy, help build a developing commercial team, and play a key role in delivering high-value infrastructure programmes across the UK
