How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    What Are We Looking For?

    Our Treatment Solutions business platform is recruiting for an experienced Design Lead to join them on a permanent basis at our office in Inverness. This role will be responsible for the leadership, coordination, and successful delivery of multi-disciplinary design activities, ensuring compliance with Client Specifications and current regulatory standards.

    Some of Your Key Duties Include:

    Coordinate all project multi-disciplinary design development activities ensuring compliance with client specifications.

    Prepare, maintain, and monitor project design programmes and ensure design deliverables are achieved in accordance with agreed timescales.

    Develop and coordinate design deliverables including calculations, reports, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.

    Ensure all design checking, validation, and approval procedures are undertaken in accordance with company and client technical governance compliance.

    Report project design progress, issues, and risks.

    Develop and own the Design Management Plan.

    What Do You Need?

    Degree, HND, HNC in Engineering or equivalent experience.

    Proven experience in a design engineering environment.

    Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering projects.

    Experience preparing and managing design programmes.

    Understanding of project delivery, procurement processes, and contractual documentation.

    Water and wastewater industry experience is highly desirable.

    Knowledge of WIMES specifications, UK Design Standards and Water Authority standards would be advantageous.

    Full UK Driving Licence.
