How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Business Development Manager

    Are you a commercially driven business development professional with experience building senior stakeholder relationships and delivering complex projects looking for a role where you can help shape the UK's low carbon future?

    On offer is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing organisation delivering the next generation of heat infrastructure, where you will take ownership of high-value connection opportunities and play a key role in major decarbonisation projects.

    This company are at the forefront of developing low carbon heat networks across the UK, working on projects with long-term social, environmental and economic impact. With ambitious growth plans and significant investment backing, they are well positioned to continue expanding their network and delivering critical infrastructure.

    In this role, you will identify, develop and secure major building connections across residential, commercial and public sector estates. You'll work closely with developers, local authorities, technical specialists and commercial teams to take opportunities from early engagement through to contracted agreements.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of strategically important projects within a growing business, where you can influence long-term infrastructure development and contribute directly to the UK's net zero ambitions.

    The Role

    Develop new heat network connection opportunities.
    * Build relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers.
