How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SENCO – SEND School
    Are you an experienced SENCO looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a thriving specialist setting? Do you have the knowledge, leadership skills and passion to ensure children with additional needs receive the highest quality education and support? This welcoming SEND school in Atherstone is looking to appoint a dedicated and ambitious SENCO to join its leadership team.

    This is an exciting opportunity to work within a specialist school that supports children and young people with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) and associated learning needs. The school is renowned for its exceptional facilities, specialist resources and welcoming culture, with a leadership team that is committed to supporting both pupils and staff to achieve their very best.

    As SENCO, you will lead the strategic development of SEND provision across the school, ensuring every pupil receives personalised support that enables them to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. Working closely with teachers, therapists, parents and external agencies, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of inclusive practice and ensuring EHCP provision is delivered effectively.

    This role would suit an experienced SENCO looking for a fresh challenge or an aspiring SEND leader with the relevant qualifications and specialist knowledge.
    The Role:

    Lead and coordinate SEND provision across the school
    Oversee EHCP implementation, annual reviews and statutory processes
    Monitor pupil progress and ensure personalised learning programmes are effective
    Support teachers and support staff to deliver outstanding SEND practice
    Work collaboratively with families, therapists and external professionals
    Lead staff training and promote high-quality inclusive teaching
    Contribute to whole-school improvement and strategic planning
    Ensure the school remains fully compliant with SEND legislation and best practiceThe Successful Candidate Will Have:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    The National Award for SEN Coordination (or be working towards it where appropriate)
    Significant experience working within a SEND setting
    Excellent knowledge of EHCPs, the SEND Code of Practice and inclusive education
    Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
