Axon Moore are working closely with an ambitious business in the Bolton area that are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant for their team. Please note for this role an immediate start/ short notice period would be needed.

The role will be working closely with the Finance Director to ensure a smooth accounting process and involves assisting with the production of monthly management accounts. This position is perfect for those seeking broad exposure and to add value to your CV, working amongst a high-calibre team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations
Assisting with weekly cashflow reporting and forecasting
Supporting with budgeting, forecasting and wider business planning
Processing invoices and supporting supplier payment runs
Full ownership of credit control and debtor management
Manage PAYE, pension and VAT submissions
Supporting payroll processing and liaising with outsource payroll providers
Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes
Month-end preparation and assisting with month-end close
Assisting with commercial and ad hoc financial projects
Required Skills and Experience:

Previous experience working in an Assistant Accountant/ Finance Manager position
Ideally AAT Qualified or studying ACCA/CIMA (qualified by experience also considered)
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel
Adaptable and flexible
Positive can-do attitude with an enthusiastic approach
Strong organisational skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Team player with ability to work independently
Clear, confident telephone manner
