How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    At Dornan - a Turner Company.  Are you looking to live in Spain or The Netherlands?

    This is a one-off high-profile opportunity to join Dornan in a senior leadership role. As our Business Unit Electrical Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the delivery of multiple large‑scale data centre projects across Europe.
    You will guide engineering teams through every project phase—from tender and pre‑construction to installation and commissioning—ensuring consistency, excellence, and innovation at every step.

    This role offers exceptional scope: strategic influence, technical depth, cross‑project oversight, and the chance to help steer how Dornan delivers some of the most advanced facilities in Europe.

    Key Responsibilities

    In this senior position, you will lead and coordinate engineering activity across a diverse portfolio of European datacentre projects, acting as the central link between design, engineering, BIM, supply chain partners and on‑site delivery teams.

    You will support project teams across Europe, embedding consistent engineering standards, driving continuous improvement, and using performance tools such as Power BI to monitor quality and progress. You will guide technical decision‑making, oversee design assurance, and support tendering, value engineering and procurement to ensure safe, sustainable and cost‑effective outcomes.

    You will play an active role in securing smooth commissioning and handover by coordinating closely with design teams, suppliers and operations. In addition, you will contribute to strategic planning with the Operations Director, helping shape team structures, resource allocation and long‑term engineering capability across the business unit—ensuring teams have the training and support

    Requirements

    Degree in Electrical Engineering.

    Experience working within data centre environments or similar complex MEP heavy projects.

    Detailed knowledge of the Engineering role.

    Commercial understanding.

    Health, Safety and Environmental systems.
