How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Mixed Tax Senior - UK Practice

    Birmingham | £40,000 - £45,000

Looking for more than just another Tax role?

This is an opportunity to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice that genuinely values its people. With continued growth and an increasing client base, the team is looking for an experienced Mixed Tax Senior who enjoys building long-term client relationships and wants to be part of a supportive, ambitious practice.

You'll inherit a well-managed portfolio of approximately 250 clients, giving you the opportunity to become a trusted adviser while working across a varied mix of personal and corporate tax matters.

Whether you're currently a Mixed Tax Senior or an experienced Tax Semi Senior ready to take the next step, we'd love to hear from you.

    The Role

As a Mixed Tax Senior, you'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio while working closely with Partners and Managers to deliver an excellent service to a diverse range of clients.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Managing a portfolio of around 250 clients

    * Preparing and reviewing Personal Tax Returns

    * Preparing Corporation Tax Returns and computations

    * Providing tax planning and advisory support where appropriate

    * Handling HMRC correspondence and client queries

    * Building long-term relationships with your client portfolio

    * Supporting junior members of the team where required

    * Working alongside the wider accounts team to deliver a seamless client service

    About You

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with clients and takes pride in delivering a high-quality service.

    You'll ideally have:

    * Experience working within a UK accountancy practice

    * Mixed Tax experience across both Personal and Corporate Tax or strong Personal Tax with an interest to Corporate.

    * The ability to manage your own workload and client portfolio

    * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

    * ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA qualifications (or qualified by experience) are all welcomed

    Why This Opportunity?

This practice has built an excellent reputation for looking after both its clients and employees. You'll be joining a friendly, collaborative team where your contribution is recognised and where you'll have the autonomy to manage your own portfolio while continuing to develop your career.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact, work with a varied client base and enjoy long-term career progression, this could be exactly what you've been waiting for.
