How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor – Main Contractor (Cut & Carve Residential, Commercial & Leisure) – Central London

    Salary/Package: £80,000 – £90,000 + Travel/Car Allowance + Private Medical + Pension + Discretionary Bonus + Annual Leave

    O’Neill and Brennan are currently working with a well-established main contractor who are looking to appoint a Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor to take commercial responsibility for a flagship cut and carve project based in the Great Portland Street area.

    This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor with an outstanding reputation for delivering complex refurbishment and cut and carve schemes across the residential, commercial and leisure sectors. You will take the commercial lead on a high-profile project from pre-construction through to final account, working closely with the Project Director and leading the commercial function on site.

    The business has a strong pipeline of secured work across Central London, offering excellent long-term career progression and the opportunity to work on technically challenging, high-value schemes.

    Role Overview

    Title: Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor
    Project: Cut & Carve Residential, Commercial or Leisure Development
    Location: Great Portland Street, Central London
    Salary: Up to £90,000 + Package
    Start: ASAP but can wait for the right person
    Type: Permanent

    Responsibilities

    Taking full commercial responsibility for a cut and carve project from procurement through to final account

    Leading the procurement and commercial management of all subcontract packages

    Producing CVRs, cost reports, cash flow forecasts and monthly commercial reporting

    Managing subcontractor accounts including valuations, variations, payments and final accounts

    Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle

    Leading client meetings and maintaining strong relationships with consultants and the wider project team

    Providing commercial leadership and mentoring junior members of the commercial team

    Working closely with operational and design teams to ensure successful commercial delivery of the project

    Requirements

    Experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor

    Proven experience delivering residential, commercial or leisure cut and carve projects

    Experience leading the commercial delivery of projects through the full project lifecycle, from procurement to final account

    Strong knowledge of cost reporting, procurement, contract administration and commercial management

    Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

    Able and willing to commute to the Great Portland Street area
