How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a permanent night shift role with excellent earning potential and genuine career progression?

    Our client is a well-established and expanding commercial vehicle business with a modern, fully equipped workshop in Totton. They are looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join their night shift team, offering long-term job security, ongoing training and excellent opportunities to develop your career.

    šŸ”§ The Role

    Working in a busy workshop, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles while ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

    šŸ”§ Key Responsibilities

    * Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles

    * Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults

    * Carry out inspections, servicing and preventative maintenance

    * Complete MOT preparation and safety inspections

    * Use diagnostic equipment to identify and rectify faults

    * Ensure all work complies with DVSA and manufacturer standards

    * Complete workshop paperwork accurately

    * Maintain high standards of health & safety and workshop housekeeping

    * Support the efficient running of the night shift operation

    šŸ”§ About You

    * NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

    * Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician

    * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

    * Good knowledge of HGV servicing and repair procedures

    * Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently

    * Positive attitude and strong team ethic
