How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    We're recruiting for skilled HGV Technicians to join a busy, expanding commercial vehicle workshop. With a choice of shift patterns available, you can select the one that best suits your lifestyle while benefiting from long-term job security and ongoing development.

    šŸ”§ What's on Offer

    * Ā£45,000 – Ā£55,000 depending on experience

    * Shift allowance

    šŸ”§ Choose Your Shift

    Early Shift

    * Monday to Friday

    * 6:00am – 3:30pm

    Evening Shift

    * Monday to Friday

    * 1:00pm – 10:30pm

    * 45-hour week

    Rotating Split Shift

    * Week 1: 6:00am – 3:30pm

    * Week 2: 1:00pm – 10:30pm

    * Monday to Friday

    šŸ”§ The Role

    * Service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles

    * Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults

    * Carry out MOT preparation and presentation

    * Road test vehicles where required

    * Attend roadside breakdowns when necessary

    * Complete all job cards and workshop paperwork accurately

    šŸ”§ About You

    * NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance

    * Previous experience as an HGV Technician

    * Full UK driving licence

    * HGV licence and roadside experience desirable but not essential

    * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

    * Reliable with a positive, team-focused attitude
