How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Design Manager - Prime Central London - High-End Residential Refurbishment

Opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to join a highly regarded London-based main contractor delivering luxury residential refurbishment and technically complex construction projects across some of the capital's most prestigious locations.

About the role of Design Manager

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a growing and established contractor specialising in high-end residential refurbishment, heritage-led projects and bespoke developments.

This role will involve managing the design process from pre-construction through to completion, working closely with architects, consultants, specialist subcontractors and internal delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered to the highest standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing design coordination on complex, detail-driven projects, where quality, craftsmanship and technical excellence are central to delivery. Projects typically involve high-spec residential refurbishments, luxury apartments, listed buildings, intricate fit-out packages and challenging construction environments within Prime Central London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Design Manager who enjoys working closely with design teams, solving technical challenges and having ownership of the design process from concept through to completion.

    Responsibilities of Design Manager

    * Manage the complete design lifecycle from pre-construction through to project completion.
    * Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
    * Review technical information, identify design risks and provide buildable solutions.
    * Lead design meetings and ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders.
    * Manage consultant and subcontractor design deliverables.
    * Support procurement and construction teams with technical guidance.
    * Ensure design information is delivered in line with programme, quality and commercial requirements.
    * Work collaboratively to deliver bespoke, high-quality residential projects.

    Requirements for Design Manager

    The ideal candidate will have:

    * 5+ years' experience within Design Management for a main contractor.
    * Proven experience delivering high-end residential refurbishment, luxury fit-out, heritage or prime residential projects.
    * Strong technical knowledge with experience managing complex design coordination.
    * Experience working with architects, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
    * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    * Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple design packages simultaneously.

    About the opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a successful contractor with an excellent reputation within the London construction market, delivering prestigious residential projects for private clients, developers and leading design teams.

The business is known for its quality-driven approach, strong supply chain relationships and collaborative working environment, providing the opportunity to work on some of London's most challenging and design-led construction projects
