How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Graduate option considered from approximately £28,000-£30,000.

    Job Description

    An exciting opportunity has become available for a Production Design Engineer to join a growing engineering team delivering bespoke fabrication projects.

    As a Production Design Engineer, you'll be involved in CAD design, production planning, customer site visits, manufacturing process development and estimating. The Production Design Engineer will work closely with customers to understand project requirements before developing practical engineering solutions.

    This Production Design Engineer role offers far more variety than a traditional office-based design position. You'll regularly visit customers, measure components, solve manufacturing problems and support fabrication teams through production.

    The successful Production Design Engineer will enjoy working on bespoke projects where every day presents new engineering challenges. As a Production Design Engineer, you'll also help plan manufacturing routes and contribute towards quotations by understanding how products will be manufactured.

    Skills & Experience

    * Production Engineering or Design experience.

    * Fabrication and welding knowledge.

    * CAD experience.

    * Manufacturing planning experience.

    * Ability to read engineering drawings.

    * Strong problem-solving skills.

    * Customer-facing confidence.

    * HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) considered.

    * Graduates with the right attitude encouraged to apply.
