How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Salary: £42,000 - £45,000 per annum
    Location: Greater London (preferred), or Essex, Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire & Bedfordshire

    Our client is looking for an experienced Industrial / Commercial Door Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer who can work independently as the primary Industrial Door Engineer across the South East.

    Benefits

    * £42,000 - £45,000 salary

    * Overtime available (single & double time rates)

    * Company van, power tools, uniform, mobile phone and laptop

    Key Responsibilities

    Installation, servicing, fault finding, repairs and upgrades of:

    * Roller shutters

    * Sectional doors

    * High-speed doors

    * Smoke & fire curtains

    * Steel security and escape doors

    * Control panels, key switches and battery back-up units

    * Door closers

    * Panic hardware, locks and maglocks

    Essential Requirements

    * Proven industrial/commercial door engineering experience

    * Gate Safe, DHF or equivalent competency

    * PASMA & IPAF certified

    * Working at Height & Manual Handling trained

    * Excellent IT skills and experience using PDA/mobile reporting systems

    * Strong customer service and communication skills

    * Ability to produce detailed service reports and identify replacement parts

    Desirable Experience

    Experience with:

    * Dock levellers & shelters

    * Automatic doors

    * Gates, barriers & access control

    * Speed lanes

    * UPVC strip curtains & crash doors

    Knowledge of welding, PUWER, LOLER, Health & Safety legislation and dynamic risk assessments would be advantageous.
