How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Design the control systems that power tomorrow's industry. At Morson Praxis, we're the technical consultancy that actually delivers what it designs, combining engineering expertise, digital innovation and practical delivery to create intelligent electrical and control systems for some of the UK's most complex engineering projects.
From energy and infrastructure to advanced manufacturing and industrial automation, our engineers deliver innovative electrical solutions that improve performance, efficiency and reliability. We're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer with EPLAN experience to join our growing team and support the design and delivery of electrical control systems across a diverse portfolio of client projects.
If you're passionate about electrical design, enjoy solving technical challenges and want to see your designs brought to life, we'd love to hear from you.
We're looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and delivery of electrical control systems. Within this role, you will combine office-based design, remote working and occasional site visits. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop innovative electrical solutions from concept through to commissioning.
    Who We Are
At Morson Praxis, we combine engineering expertise with digital innovation to deliver complex technical solutions across energy, infrastructure, aerospace, defence and industrial sectors.
As part of the wider Morson Group, we offer the agility of a specialist engineering consultancy with the strength and stability of one of the UK's leading technical organisations. Our engineers work collaboratively with clients to solve complex engineering challenges and deliver safe, sustainable and future-ready solutions.
You'll join a team where innovation, collaboration and continuous development are at the heart of everything we do.
    What You'll Do
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing electrical and control system designs throughout the project lifecycle, including:
    * Designing and developing electrical control systems for industrial and infrastructure projects
    * Producing detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts and associated documentation using EPLAN, AutoCAD and other engineering design software
    * Collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop practical technical solutions
    * Ensuring designs comply with customer specifications, industry standards and safety regulations
    * Supporting system integration, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT) and commissioning activities
    * Providing technical support during installation, testing, fault-finding and commissioning of electrical and control systems
    * Preparing technical reports, calculations and maintaining accurate design documentation throughout the project lifecycle
    * Supporting project planning, risk assessments and continuous improvement initiatives
    * Working closely with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
    What We're Looking For
    * Experience producing electrical designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams and panel layouts using EPLAN, AutoCAD or similar CAD software
    * Good understanding of industrial automation, instrumentation and control systems
    * Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and safety-related control systems
    * Understanding of relevant electrical standards and regulations, including BS and IEC standards
    * Ability to interpret engineering specifications, P&IDs and technical documentation
    * Experience supporting installation, commissioning, testing and fault-finding of electrical and control systems
    * Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
    * Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients
    * Degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Control & Automation Engineering, or a related discipline
