How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Job Title: Teacher of Maths (Primary)
    Location: Tower Hamlets, London
    Start Date: September 2026
    Salary: M3–UPS3, dependent on experience

Are you ready to solve for “X” and discover an exciting new teaching opportunity this September?
Can you divide complex ideas into simple, engaging lessons that help every pupil succeed?
Are you an inspiring Teacher of Maths (Primary) who can help young learners develop confidence, curiosity and a genuine love of numbers?
TeacherActive is delighted to be working with a highly regarded and forward-thinking independent primary school in Tower Hamlets, London. The school is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Teacher of Maths (Primary) to join its team from September 2026, with a particular focus on delivering high-quality mathematics teaching to a Year 3 class.

The school has an excellent reputation for academic achievement, outstanding facilities and providing pupils with a broad, ambitious and enriching education. Staff are encouraged to bring creativity and fresh ideas into the classroom while benefiting from a supportive leadership team and strong opportunities for continued professional development.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an educator who can make mathematics practical, engaging and accessible for primary-aged pupils. You will deliver well-structured lessons across key areas including number, place value, arithmetic, fractions, geometry, measurement, reasoning and problem-solving.

As a Teacher of Maths (Primary), you will plan and deliver creative lessons that encourage Year 3 pupils to explore mathematical concepts, explain their thinking and approach new challenges with confidence. You will use a range of teaching strategies and resources to ensure that all children, including those with additional learning needs, are supported and appropriately challenged.

You will work collaboratively with class teachers, support staff and the wider leadership team to contribute to curriculum planning, assess pupil progress and promote consistently high standards in mathematics. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reflective and committed to helping pupils build the strong mathematical foundations they need for future learning.

The successful Teacher of Maths (Primary) will have:

    • Qualified Teacher Status and experience teaching within a UK school
    • Strong knowledge of the primary mathematics curriculum
    • Experience teaching or supporting pupils within Key Stage 2, ideally Year 3
    • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
    • A genuine passion for mathematics and raising pupil achievement

In return for the above, you can expect to receive:

    • A dedicated team of consultants to guide and support you throughout the onboarding process
    • Access to CPD courses and certificates through the My-Progression channel
    • Competitive rates of pay aligned with M3–UPS3
    • The opportunity to work within a supportive and high-achieving independent school
    • TeacherActive Referral Scheme – Receive up to £100 when you refer a friend. Terms and Conditions apply

Our staff are paid on a PAYE basis, giving you peace of mind that the correct level of Tax and National Insurance is being paid, with no unexpected administration charges deducted from your hard-earned pay.
