How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Salary: £49,000-£57,000

    Are you an experienced Paediatric Recovery Nurse looking to take the next step into a leadership role? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading independent healthcare provider for a Lead Paediatric Recovery Nurse to join a high-performing theatre team within a modern private hospital in Central London.

    This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to lead paediatric recovery services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, clinical excellence, and regulatory compliance. You will play a key role in supporting children, young people, and their families throughout the perioperative journey while also providing post-anaesthetic care for adult patients when required.

    The Role As the Lead Paediatric Recovery Nurse, you will oversee the delivery of safe, effective, and evidence-based recovery care for paediatric surgical patients. You will provide clinical leadership within theatres, recovery, and anaesthetic services, supporting the development of the wider nursing team while ensuring compliance with CQC standards and best practice guidelines.

    This is a hands-on leadership position combining clinical expertise with service development, education, governance, and team management.

    Key Responsibilities
    Lead paediatric recovery services across theatres and recovery.

    Ensure safe, high-quality post-anaesthetic care for paediatric patients and adults where appropriate.

    Provide clinical leadership, mentorship, and support to the recovery team.

    Work collaboratively with consultants, anaesthetists, theatre staff, and multidisciplinary teams.

    Promote family-centred care and exceptional patient experiences.

    Ensure compliance with CQC standards and national clinical guidelines.

    Support service development, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance.

    Participate in staff education, training, mentorship, and competency assessments.

    Undertake risk assessments and contribute to patient safety initiatives.

    Actively participate in the paediatric emergency response team.

    Contribute to the on-call rota and flexible shift rotation.

    About You To be successful in this role you will have:

    Registered Nurse (NMC) qualification.

    Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Paediatric Recovery Nurse.

    Previous experience leading or mentoring clinical teams.

    Teaching or Mentorship qualification.

    Recognised postgraduate paediatric professional development.

    EPALS or APLS Provider certification.

    Excellent knowledge of paediatric recovery and post-anaesthetic care.

    Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

    A genuine passion for delivering outstanding patient-centred care.
