How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Senior Acoustic Consultant

(Sound advice. Technical expertise. Creating better environments — by design.)

Acoustics isn't just about measuring noise.

It's about understanding how people experience spaces, how developments interact with their surroundings, and how technical expertise can help projects move forward with confidence.

At Lucion Delta-Simons, our acoustic consultants help shape residential, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and energy projects across the UK. From planning support to detailed acoustic design, we provide clear, practical advice that helps clients navigate complex challenges and deliver successful developments.

We're now looking for a Senior Acoustic Consultant to join our multidisciplinary environmental consultancy team. This role is suited to someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with client-facing consultancy and takes pride in delivering work that stands up to scrutiny.

What You'll Be Doing (And Why It Matters)

This is a varied consultancy role where technical knowledge, communication skills, and sound judgement are essential.

    You'll:

    • Manage and deliver environmental noise and vibration assessments

    • Undertake building acoustics assessments and advise on acoustic design solutions

    • Conduct noise monitoring surveys and analyse acoustic data

    • Prepare high-quality technical reports in line with UK standards and guidance

    • Undertake acoustic modelling using industry-standard software

    • Support planning applications through detailed noise and vibration assessments

    • Liaise directly with clients, architects, planners, local authorities, and project stakeholders

    • Manage project budgets, resources, and programme delivery

    • Mentor and support junior consultants and graduates

    • Contribute to business development activities and maintain strong client relationships

In short: delivering trusted acoustic advice that helps clients make informed decisions and create better places to live, work, and operate.

    About You (Technical, Practical, Solutions-Focused)

You understand that effective acoustic consultancy balances technical accuracy, commercial awareness, and real-world application.

    You'll likely:

    • Hold a degree in Acoustics, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline

    • Be a Member of the Institute of Acoustics (MIOA), or working towards Chartered status

    • Have proven experience within environmental and/or building acoustics consultancy

    • Have a strong understanding of UK guidance and standards, including BS 4142, BS 8233, and ProPG

    • Be experienced using acoustic modelling software such as CadnaA or SoundPLAN

    • Produce clear, concise, and technically robust reports

    • Be confident managing multiple projects and competing deadlines

    • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders

    • Hold a full UK driving licence

    Useful extras (not essential):

    • Experience undertaking BREEAM acoustic assessments

    • Sound insulation testing experience

    • Knowledge of vibration assessments and monitoring

    • Project management or team leadership experience

    • Commercial awareness and business development experience

You're organised, technically capable, and trusted to provide clear advice when it matters most.

What You'll Get in Return (Because Good Work Deserves Good Support)

We look after our people so they can focus on delivering quality work. Alongside a supportive, professional environment, you'll benefit from:

    • Competitive salary of up to £43,000 per annum

    • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements

    • Professional membership support and training

    • Clear career development opportunities within a growing consultancy

    • Pension scheme and annual leave entitlement

    • Employee wellbeing initiatives and support programmes

    • A collaborative team that values expertise, professionalism, and continuous improvement

    Why Lucion Delta-Simons?

Because good consultancy starts with good listening.

Because technical excellence is about more than compliance — it's about helping clients make better decisions.

And because you want your expertise to make a measurable difference to real projects and real environments.

If you're a Senior Acoustic Consultant looking for a role where your knowledge is valued, your judgement is trusted, and your work genuinely shapes outcomes — we'd love to hear from you.

As part of our commitment to safety, trust, and doing things properly, the successful candidate will be required to complete a DBS check before joining the business.

Lucion Delta-Simons. Purpose-led. People-focused. Getting it right — every project, every time
