How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Warehouse Operator

    Location: Exeter, EX5

    gap personnel are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operator to join a busy and expanding warehouse operation based at Greendale Business Park, Exeter.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established business offering excellent working hours, great benefits, and a supportive team environment. The role is varied and hands-on, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    Operating Counterbalance forklift trucks to load and unload goods into racking and bulk storage areas.
    Assisting with unloading shipping containers, including ramp and loose-loaded containers.
    Recording pallet movements accurately using handheld scanners and warehouse paperwork.
    Picking, packing and preparing customer orders.
    Maintaining high standards of housekeeping throughout the warehouse.
    Liaising with the Storage Supervisor regarding deliveries and collections.
    Supporting stock control and inventory activities.
    Working independently to prioritise and complete daily tasks.
    Undertaking additional warehouse duties as required to support the wider operation.
    What We're Looking For

    A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is essential.
    Pivot Steer experience is advantageous, although full training will be provided.
    Previous experience within a racked and bulk storage warehouse environment is desirable.
    Physically fit and comfortable undertaking a manual, active role.
    Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
    Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
    Flexible, reliable and willing to support a variety of warehouse tasks.
    Hours & Pay:

    Pay: £14.00 per hour
    Hours: Monday to Friday, 2:30pm – 11:00pm
