We are seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join a growing technical team specialising in structural warranties, latent defects insurance, technical auditing, and claims assessment across residential and mixed-use developments throughout the South East.

The Role
As a Chartered Building Surveyor, you will undertake and oversee technical audits on residential and mixed-use developments, ensuring construction works comply with recognised industry standards, Building Regulations, and structural warranty requirements.
You will also review inspection reports submitted by surveyors, assess technical findings, manage outstanding issues, and liaise with developers, contractors, and site teams to ensure remedial works are completed efficiently.
In addition, you will support the assessment of structural warranty claims by investigating reported defects, determining causation, preparing technical reports, and working closely with insurers and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out technical audits and site inspections on residential and mixed-use developments.
Review inspection reports submitted by surveyors.
Assess technical findings, observations, and areas requiring remedial action.
Liaise with developers, contractors, consultants, and site teams to ensure issues are resolved.
Monitor the close-out of technical observations and outstanding works.
Review drawings, specifications, and construction details.
Identify construction defects, compliance issues, and technical risks.
Produce clear, accurate, and professional inspection reports.
Support the technical assessment of new structural warranty applications.
Undertake assessments of structural warranty claims relating to reported defects.
Investigate defects, determine causation, and assess remedial requirements.
Prepare detailed technical reports for internal stakeholders and insurers.
Provide technical guidance to surveyors and project teams.
Assist in developing technical standards, risk management processes, and quality procedures.
Help ensure projects meet the requirements for structural warranty cover.
About You
We're looking for an experienced and technically competent surveyor with strong knowledge of residential construction, defects, and remedial works.
Essential Requirements
MRICS, MCABE, MCIOB, or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience within Building Surveying, Building Control, Structural Warranty, Technical Auditing, Claims Assessment, or Residential Construction.
Strong knowledge of Building Regulations, construction detailing, defects, and remedial solutions.
Experience inspecting new-build residential developments.
Ability to interpret technical reports and manage issues through to resolution.
Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Confident liaising with clients, developers, contractors, consultants, and site teams.
Ability to work independently and exercise sound technical judgement.
