We are recruiting caring, patient and dedicated ALN Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Abertillery and the surrounding areas. Whether you're looking for long-term work or flexible supply opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional learning needs while gaining valuable experience in education.
The Role
🧩 Support pupils with Additional Learning Needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
🧩 Encourage confidence, independence and engagement with learning
🧩 Work closely with teachers and other professionals to support individual learning plans
🧩 Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
🧩 Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
🧩 Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families
Who We're Looking For
✅ Experience working with children or young people is essential (school, childcare, coaching, youth work, residential care, volunteering or similar)
✅ Experience supporting ALN, SEN or SEMH is desirable but not essential
✅ Patient, caring and resilient approach
✅ Excellent communication and teamwork skills
✅ Welsh-speaking skills are desirable but not essential
✅ Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
