How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Milton Keynes
    Office-Based – 5 Days per Week
    Immediate Start Available

    We are recruiting for a Head of Major Projects to join a well-established, growing contractor based in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced construction professional looking to take ownership of high-value projects from initial client engagement through to successful delivery.

    This is a hands-on role within a small, close-knit business, so we're looking for someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and leading projects from start to finish.

    The Role

    As Head of Major Projects, you will oversee the delivery of multiple construction projects while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting the commercial aspects of the business.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    * Managing major construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.

    * Running multiple sites and overseeing project delivery.

    * Carrying out site measurements and surveys.

    * Preparing estimates and supporting tender submissions.

    * Managing project programmes, budgets, and resources.

    * Acting as the main point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle.

    * Working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.

    * Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

    * Supporting business growth through excellent customer service and repeat business.

    About You

    We're looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager or similar who has a broad construction background and enjoys working in a varied, fast-paced environment.

    You will have:

    * Proven experience managing major construction projects.

    * Previous experience as a Senior Project Manager or equivalent.

    * Experience in surveying, estimating, and site measurement.

    * Strong commercial awareness.

    * Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills.

    * A personable, professional, and approachable manner.

    * Strong listening and communication skills.

    * A reliable, organised, and proactive approach.

    * The ability to work collaboratively within a small team.

    * Full UK Driving Licence.

    What's on Offer

    * Competitive salary depending on experience.

    * Immediate start available.

    * Long-term opportunity with a growing contractor.

    * Opportunity to play a key role in shaping and leading the major projects division.

    * Supportive and friendly working environment.

    * Varied and interesting projects with genuine career progression
