How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    A Legal 500 and Chambers UK recognised, multi office law firm is seeking a Family Solicitor to join its expanding Family team in Barnet. This Family Solicitor role offers exposure to a broad range of privately funded and legal aid family matters, working within an established team while helping to develop the department. The Family Solicitor will manage their own caseload, undertake advocacy and play an active role in business development. This opportunity is suited to a Family Solicitor looking to progress within a supportive and growing practice.

    The Company?

    The successful Family Solicitor will join an upper tier, multi service law firm with recognised expertise across Family Law, Criminal Defence, Housing, Civil Liberties and Human Rights. The firm provides ongoing training, strong administrative support and a collaborative working environment, allowing fee earners to focus on client work while dedicated internal teams manage billing, credit control and inbound enquiries.

    The Role

    As the Family Solicitor you will manage a varied caseload of family and childcare matters.

    The role will include:

    * Managing Care Proceedings and PLO matters
    * Advising on Private Children Law matters
    * Handling Domestic Abuse, Non Molestation and Occupation Order applications
    * Managing divorce and financial remedy matters
    * Advising on cohabitation disputes and wider family law issues
    * Undertaking advocacy where required

    The Family Solicitor?

    You will be an experienced Family Solicitor capable of managing your own caseload while contributing to the continued growth of the team.

    The Family Solicitor must have:

    * Qualified Solicitor with at least 3 years' PQE
    * Experience across family and childcare law
    * Strong understanding of legal aid work
    * Advocacy experience or willingness to undertake your own advocacy
    * Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    * Business development skills with the ability to generate work
