Location: Northwich, Cheshire
Hours: Full-Time | Night Shift (Tuesday–Friday, 7pm–7am, including a 1-hour unpaid break)
The Opportunity
We are representing a well-established commercial vehicle business in Cheshire that is looking for an experienced Night Technician to join their team. This is a stable, long-term position offering excellent earning potential and the chance to work with modern equipment in a supportive environment.
Working independently during night shifts, you will be responsible for the servicing, repair, and inspection of HGVs, trailers, and light commercial vehicles, ensuring all work is carried out to DVSA standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out servicing, inspections, and repairs on a range of commercial vehicles
* Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipment
* Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
* Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant workshop environment
* Report progress and highlight issues to the Workshop Manager
* Provide guidance and support to junior technicians when required
Candidate Requirements
* NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
* Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently during unsupervised night shifts
* Broad experience across different vehicle types and brands
* Attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
* Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
Desirable but not essential:
* HGV Licence (Class 1 or 2)
