How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer
    A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing Building Services consultancy delivering highly technical projects within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, life sciences, healthcare and advanced manufacturing sectors.
    This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to develop their technical expertise while working alongside an experienced team on specialist projects involving cleanrooms, laboratories and other controlled environments.
    The Role - Working within an established Electrical Design team, you'll support the delivery of a wide variety of technically challenging projects from concept through to completion. You'll collaborate with senior engineers while gradually taking ownership of your own schemes as your experience develops.
    Projects include the design of sophisticated building services installations for highly regulated environments where quality, innovation and technical excellence are paramount.
    Key Responsibilities
    Produce electrical design calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
    Prepare project scopes, design schedules and supporting engineering documentation.
    Design LV distribution systems using industry-standard software.
    Develop lighting and emergency lighting schemes.
    Produce designs for:
    LV power distribution
    Small power and mechanical power
    UPS systems
    Earthing systems
    Lighting and emergency lighting
    Fire alarm and detection systems (including VESDA)
    Access control, CCTV and security systems
    Voice & data installations
    Solar PV and renewable technologies
    Building monitoring and facilities management systems
    Work collaboratively using Autodesk Construction Cloud (Autodesk Forma) to coordinate project delivery.
    Support multidisciplinary teams throughout the design process.
    About You
    * Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
    * Experience working within a Building Services consultancy or engineering design environment.
    * Knowledge of electrical building services design and relevant UK standards.
    * Familiarity with software such as ElectricalOM, Trimble ProDesign, Relux or DIALux would be advantageous.
    * Strong communication skills and a desire to continue developing technically.
