How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    SEND Specialist Support Assistant - Immediate Start or Post-Half Term | £95-£125 per day | Long-Term Opportunity | Stockport Area
    Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Do you have the resilience, empathy, and dedication to make a real difference in the lives of students who need it most? Hays Education is working in partnership with a vibrant and inclusive specialist secondary school in the Tameside area, which caters for pupils aged 11-16 with a range of complex learning needs, including moderate learning difficulties (MLD), autism spectrum conditions (ASC), and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school is known for its nurturing environment, strong leadership, and commitment to personalised learning. We are seeking a SEND Specialist Support Assistant to join their dedicated team on a full-time basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in special education.
    Location: Stockport, Greater Manchester
    Salary: £95 - £125 per day (dependent on experience)
    Contract Type: Full-time, long-term
    Start Date: September
    Key Duties/Responsibilities:

    Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with a range of SEND needs
    Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities
    Support pupils with emotional regulation, communication, and social interaction
    Help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
    Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents/carers
    What You'll Need to Succeed:

    Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in school, care, or youth settings)
    A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
    Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
    A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through Hays
