How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About The Company
    Beaumont College South Lakes provides highly personalised pathways for special school leavers, and we support them in the journey to become adults, and to live independent and fulfilling lives as far as possible.
    As part of therapy team you will be working with a wide interdisciplinary team to support students to reach their full potential with their health and wellbeing and prepare for adulthood.
    The Beaumont College family work closely together to provide opportunities for special school leavers to prepare for full and busy lives as adults. Empathy, patience and understanding of special educational needs or a willingness and aptitude to learn are key to the postholders appointment.
    The role is 8 hours per week / Term Time Only.  

    About The Role
    Location: Ulverston
    Hours: 8 hours per week (1 day, TTO)

    Job Responsibilities:
    This document outlines the duties required at the current time to indicate the level of responsibility.     To manage a caseload of young people with a range of complex conditions.
    To undertake highly specialised Occupational Therapy assessments and treatments, working as an autonomous practitioner, managing young people with a range of complex conditions, including severe physical and cognitive difficulties.
    To deliver Occupational therapy interventions to ensure the students reach their potential to be as independent as possible in a range of daily living, self care and educational tasks.
    To provide assessment, equipment provision for equipment for activities of daily living.
    To understand sensory processing difficulties and their impact on everyday tasks, advice strategies and tools to accommodate for or develop sensory processing needs in order to engage in education and community activities.
    To provide information to the administration team with regards to predicted Occupational Therapy input for potential students funding applications.
    To ensure Occupational Therapy practice across college is up to date, in line with current national guidelines and evidence based.
    To take responsibility for risk assessments relating to Occupational Therapy equipment and procedures.
    To provide training to other members of staff within the college, including education and support staff
    To keep clear, concise, up to date and legally compliant Occupational Therapy records
    Support in sessions – facilitating use of therapy equipment within the education sessions, confidence supporting education and support staff to use therapeutic equipment safely.
    Use of Nourish and uploading of relevant documentation
    Training and mentoring the wider staff team via an MDT approach and sharing of best practice to support the social model of disability.

    Grade Specific Competencies
    Suitable Occupational Therapy qualification with at least 2 year post graduate experience.
    Previous experience of working with young people with Autism and behaviours that challenge,
    Experience of sensory integration principles in practice.
    Maintain registration with HCPC
    Maximise own potential through continuous learning and development.Person Specification 

    Full UK driving license and a willingness to drive college vehicles (desired)
    Bsc in Occupational Therapy and HCPC professional registration (essential)
    Able to use commonly used IT software such as email to maintain contact with college staff, able to keep accurate records of work completed and work to method statements of intended work
    Interest and/or basic knowledge in therapy related clinical areas e.g postural management, sensory processing,Our Core Values:
