How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Your role will be pivotal in ensuring compliance with employment legislation while fostering a positive workplace culture.

    Key Responsibilities:

Take ownership of a complex and varied Employee Relations caseload, providing expert advice and guidance to managers on all aspects of employment law, company policy and best practice.
Lead on disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance, probation, and conduct cases, ensuring investigations and outcomes are fair, robust, timely and legally compliant.
Support managers through the full Employee Relations process, from initial advice and investigation through to formal hearings, appeals and case resolution.
Conduct and oversee complex workplace investigations, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, producing investigation reports and making recommendations based on findings.
Provide pragmatic, commercial advice to operational leaders, balancing legal compliance with operational requirements and business objectives.
Ensure all Employee Relations cases are managed consistently, mitigating legal and reputational risk while promoting positive employee relations.
Coach, influence and develop managers to build confidence and capability in managing people issues effectively, reducing dependency on the People Team.
Advise on disciplinary matters including misconduct and gross misconduct, ensuring investigations and hearings are conducted in accordance with company procedures and the principles of natural justice.
Manage complex grievance cases, ensuring concerns are investigated thoroughly, handled sensitively and resolved wherever possible through appropriate interventions.
Support performance and capability processes, providing guidance on performance improvement plans, review meetings and formal capability procedures where required.
Manage a varied Employee Relations caseload, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence management, flexible working, and capability matters, ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policy.
Lead and advise managers through complex long-term sickness absence cases, providing practical guidance on achieving appropriate and timely outcomes.
Manage medical capability cases from initial referral through to conclusion, ensuring a fair, consistent and legally compliant process.
Coordinate occupational health referrals, review medical evidence, and support managers in interpreting recommendations and implementing appropriate actions.
Advise on and facilitate reasonable adjustments in line with the Equality Act 2010, working collaboratively with managers and employees to support attendance and performance where appropriate.
Conduct regular long-term absence reviews, ensuring appropriate contact is maintained with employees and that cases progress in a timely manner.
Assess the feasibility of redeployment, phased returns, workplace adjustments, and alternative roles where appropriate before medical capability decisions are made.
Support managers in balancing business needs with employee wellbeing, ensuring decisions are evidence-based and proportionate.
Ensure all absence management documentation, records, and correspondence are maintained accurately and in line with GDPR requirements.
Identify trends in sickness absence and provide recommendations to improve attendance management and reduce long-term absence across the business.
Coach and develop managers to build confidence and capability in managing attendance, wellbeing, and Employee Relations issues.
Work closely with Occupational Health providers, HR colleagues, payroll, and operational teams to deliver effective case management and positive employee outcomes.
Represent the People function in formal capability meetings, appeals, and consultation meetings where required.

    Experience & Skills Required:

Proven experience as a People Partner in a large, multi-site organisation with a significant frontline workforce.
Strong track record of managing complex ER casework independently.
