How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Your new firm
A stellar opportunity has arisen to join our leading international clients' clinical risk team in their rapidly growing Bristol office. With an international reputation, this firm has a global reach across their network of offices and is cementing their presence in the Bristol market. They are currently seeking an NQ-5 PQE Clinical Risk Solicitor to join their team in Bristol. The team work on a hybrid basis, with a mix of at-home and in-office working.

    Your new role
This defendant clinical negligence role will see you handling a challenging but fulfilling caseload of defendant clinical negligence work acting for a variety of clients, which may include work for NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts, MDU, independent providers, and medical malpractice insurers. You will be drafting legal documents, conducting face to face negotiations and mediation of claims, preparing cases for and adhering to court deadlines and engaging in direct client care, acting as first and primary contact for clients on a day to day basis, providing them with commercially focused legal advice.

    What you'll need to succeed
You will be a Clinical Risk Solicitor or Associate NQ-5 PQE, ideally with defendant experience, however applications are welcomed from good-quality claimant clinical negligence lawyers who are keen to make the move into defendant medical negligence work. The firm is also interested in hearing from bright, technically able solicitors with a personal injury, civil litigation, or insurance law background who are looking to move into clinical negligence work. You will possess excellent relationship and client handling skills and will also be able to deal confidently and professionally with clients on day-to-day issues. Applications are welcomed from those looking to work full and part-time. Experience of an NHS Resolution panel firm would be desirable but is not essential.

What you'll get in returnYou will have the opportunity to work for a national Clinical Risk market leader and a firm with both a global reach and significant presence in the Bristol market. You will receive a generous salary and good benefits package, together with ongoing career development support throughout your career.
