How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to support the delivery of data centre/mission critical projects across the UK. This contract role involves leading commissioning activities from pre-commissioning to integrated testing and handover, working closely with client teams, general contractors, and specialist subcontractors to ensure high-quality, safe, and structured outcomes.

    Key Responsibilities:

Driving the commissioning strategy and plan for assigned projects/workstreams
Leading commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical, and controls/BMS interfaces
Developing and managing commissioning programmes, priorities, daily/weekly lookaheads, and constraints
Coordinating stakeholders including clients, general contractors, MEP subcontractors, vendors, CSA/interface teams, and operations
Overseeing pre-commissioning checks, method statements, test scripts/procedures, FAT/SAT planning, and readiness
Supporting/leading Integrated Systems Testing (IST)/end-to-end functional testing and scenario testing
Ensuring commissioning is aligned with QA/QC requirements including correct installation, sign-offs, redlines/as-builts, and O&M readiness
Managing commissioning documentation including test packs, check sheets, defect/punch lists, closure evidence, and turnover packages
Supporting handover, snag close-out, training coordination, and operational readiness activities
Providing clear reporting on progress, risks, blockers, mitigations, and milestones to project leadership

    Job Requirements:

Proven experience in delivering commissioning on mission critical/data centre projects (new build and/or upgrades)
Strong knowledge of MEP systems typically found in critical environments such as UPS, generators, LV distribution, switchgear, cooling systems, and controls/BMS integration
Comfortable working on live project sites and influencing multiple parties across the supply chain
Strong planning/programme skills; able to drive actions, manage dependencies, and keep commissioning on track
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Willingness and flexibility to travel frequently across UK sites, with some remote work as applicable

    Desirable Skills:

Experience with QAQC/Quality frameworks and structured test-pack environments
Background in either electrical or mechanical disciplines (or both), with strong systems/interface understanding
Exposure to modular build/traditional build data centres

    Contract Details:

Working Pattern: Mixture of site-based and remote work (project dependent)
Travel & Accommodation: Covered as required for site attendance
    Start Date: Immediate
