How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Mechanical Construction Manager Opportunity – Leading M&E Contractor – Life Sciences

We are working with a highly respected M&E contractor renowned for delivering technically complex commercial, healthcare and life sciences projects across the UK. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint a Mechanical Construction Manager to lead the mechanical delivery on this flagship development.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a contractor with an excellent reputation for quality, long-term career progression and market-leading remuneration, with both freelance and permanent opportunities available.

    The Role

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the mechanical construction activities on site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Leading the mechanical delivery across the project from installation through to commissioning.

    * Managing mechanical supervisors, direct labour and specialist subcontractors.

    * Coordinating site activities to ensure programme milestones are achieved.

    * Driving health & safety standards and ensuring full compliance across site.

    * Overseeing QA/QC processes, inspections and snag management.

    * Chairing coordination meetings and liaising with the client, main contractor and wider project team.

    * Managing labour resources, materials and productivity to maximise project performance.

    * Supporting testing, commissioning and handover to ensure a successful project completion.

    Requirements

    * Proven experience as a Mechanical Construction Manager on large-scale M&E projects.

    * Previous experience delivering commercial, healthcare or life sciences developments is highly desirable.

    * Strong technical understanding of mechanical building services installations.

    * Excellent leadership, planning and communication skills.

    * SMSTS, CSCS and relevant mechanical qualifications.

    What's on Offer?

    * Freelance or permanent opportunities available.

    * Market-leading salary or highly competitive day rates.

    * Excellent benefits package for permanent employees.

    * Long-term work with a leading M&E contractor experiencing significant growth.

    * Clear progression opportunities across a strong pipeline of commercial, healthcare and life sciences projects.

    * Opportunity to play a key role on a prestigious, technically challenging life sciences development in Central London.

If you're an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager looking to join one of the UK's leading M&E contractors on a landmark life sciences project, we'd love to hear from you.
