How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Salary circa £45,000 | Bonus | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays | Expanding Manufacturing Facility

    A Quality Engineer opportunity has become available with an established automotive manufacturer investing in the expansion of an existing manufacturing site and new automated production equipment. This is an exciting opportunity to help establish quality processes, support new product introduction, implement APQP activities and help shape quality standards within a growing manufacturing environment.

    Quality Engineer responsibilities include -

    * Supporting the implementation of APQP and core tools across the expanding manufacturing facility.
    * Leading customer complaints, non-conformance investigations and 8D problem-solving activities to identify root causes and implement effective corrective actions.
    * Driving scrap reduction, rework reduction and continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing quality.
    * Creating and maintaining quality documentation including Control Plans, PFMEAs, work instructions and inspection standards.
    * Supporting internal audits, customer quality requirements and Quality Management System compliance.
    * Training and supporting production staff to ensure quality standards, processes and best practices are consistently followed.

    Quality Engineer desirable skills and experience -

    * Previous experience working within a Quality Engineer position within a manufacturing environment.
    * Good understanding of quality core tools including APQP, PPAP, PFMEA and Control Plans.
    * Experience leading 8D investigations and implementing effective corrective actions.
    * Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships across production, engineering and customer teams.
