How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Salary circa £40,000+ | Bonus | 1pm Finish Friday | 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays

    A Quality Engineer opportunity has become available with an established engineering manufacturer supplying precision components into highly regulated and customer-driven industries. Quality plays a critical role throughout the business, with the successful individual supporting site-wide compliance, driving continuous improvement activities and working closely with production, engineering and suppliers to resolve quality concerns. This position would suit an experienced Quality Engineer who enjoys taking a hands-on, collaborative approach to improving manufacturing quality.

    Quality Engineer responsibilities include -

    * Leading 8D investigations using structured root cause analysis techniques to implement effective corrective actions.
    * Working closely with production, engineering and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and prevent repeat issues.
    * Supporting and improving the Business Management System in line with customer requirements.
    * Conducting internal and process audits whilst supporting customer and third-party audit activities.
    * Driving continuous improvement, scrap reduction and process improvement projects with measurable results.

    Quality Engineer desirable skills and experience -

    * Previous experience working within a Quality Engineer position in a manufacturing environment.
    * Strong working knowledge of quality management systems including AS9100, ISO 9001 and ideally IATF 16949.
    * Proven experience leading full 8D investigations using Fishbone (Ishikawa) and other problem solving techniques.
