How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

You'll provide practical advice, support compliance, investigate incidents and help drive continuous improvement across all areas of Health, Safety and Environmental performance.

Whether you're carrying out site inspections, delivering training or supporting managers with risk assessments, you'll play a key role in ensuring everyone goes home safe every day.

    What you'll be doing

    • Support compliance with UK health, safety and environmental legislation and company standards.
    • Assist with the development, implementation and review of HSE policies and procedures.
    • Support the maintenance of legal compliance registers and statutory requirements.
    • Provide practical guidance to managers and employees on day-to-day HSE matters.
    • Promote a positive, proactive and engaged safety culture across the business.

    Risk Management

    • Support the completion and review of risk assessments, COSHH assessments and safe systems of work.
    • Assist operational teams in identifying hazards and implementing effective control measures.
    • Support permit-to-work processes and other high-risk activities.
    • Monitor the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend improvements where required.

    Inspections, Audits & Compliance Monitoring

    • Carry out regular workplace inspections and compliance audits.
    • Record findings, monitor actions and ensure improvements are completed.
    • Support internal and external audits.
    • Identify trends and opportunities to improve compliance and performance.

    Incident Investigation

    • Support investigations into accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe acts.
    • Gather evidence, witness statements and documentation.
    • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
    • Monitor the completion of corrective actions.
    • Support RIDDOR reporting and statutory documentation.

    Training & Employee Engagement

    • Deliver health, safety and environmental inductions.
    • Support toolbox talks and awareness campaigns.
    • Provide practical coaching and advice to managers and employees.
    • Encourage employee involvement in improving workplace safety.
    • Support behavioural safety initiatives across the site.

    Environmental & Contractor Management

    • Support contractor management processes and permit-to-work activities.
    • Assist with waste management and environmental compliance.
    • Support sustainability initiatives and environmental improvement projects.
    • Maintain accurate environmental records and documentation.

    Performance & Continuous Improvement

    • Maintain HSE records, registers and performance data.
    • Produce KPI reports and performance information.
    • Analyse trends and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
    • Support business improvement projects and wider QHSE initiatives.

    About you

We're looking for someone who enjoys being on the shop floor, building relationships and influencing positive behaviours. You'll be confident communicating with people at all levels and passionate about creating a safe working environment.

    What you'll receive

    • Competitive salary.
    • 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), increasing with service to 38 days.
