How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Flexzo Teach | Daytime Maths & Science Tutor

Flexible daytime tutoring opportunities with local educational settings through a direct booking platform.

Flexzo Teach connects passionate subject specialists with local primary and secondary settings for daytime short-term, long-term, and permanent roles. We are currently building our local talent pool of expert Maths and Science Tutors in Amersham, Buckinghamshire to meet growing daytime demand.

    Why join Flexzo Teach?

    • Set your own schedule and daytime availability, with competitive pay rates that truly reflect your subject expertise.
    • Receive direct booking requests from local schools and educational settings without the middleman.
    • Deliver core STEM support, boosting pupil confidence in Mathematics and Science to help them reach their full potential.
    • Opportunities suitable for experienced professionals, qualified teachers, and dedicated tutors looking to expand their daytime teaching portfolio.

    What you need

    • You must be available during school hours (Monday to Friday) to deliver targeted interventions, catch-up sessions, and daytime tutoring.
    • Strong experience delivering targeted interventions or tutoring across Mathematics and Science (Primary/Secondary level), or holding a relevant teaching qualification (e.g., QTS/QTLS).
    • Proven experience supporting diverse learning needs, including pupils with SEND (e.g., ASD, dyslexia, ADHD) or those requiring targeted catch-up support. All applicants must have prior SEN experience.
    • A strong understanding of the National Curriculum, primary/secondary assessment frameworks, and the ability to implement tailored lesson plans and track student progress effectively.
    • A valid right to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to obtain one). You must also be able to commute to Amersham or one of our wider operating areas (London, Surrey, Manchester, or Kent) for your initial interview.
    • A compassionate approach combined with exceptional communication skills suitable for collaborating with young learners, parents, and school staff.

Note on In-Person Interviews: To ensure the highest quality of safeguarding and a genuine connection, all first interviews are conducted in person, even if your ultimate placement features remote elements. You must be able to travel to one of our operating areas for this stage.

    How it works

Once your profile is approved on our direct booking platform, local schools can contact you directly for daytime tutoring, intervention work, or formal interviews.
