How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Yard/Warehouse Labourer – Structural Steel

    Location: Structural Steel Yard/Warehouse
    Pay: £12.80 per hour (with pay increases based on experience)
    Job Type: Temporary to Permanent

    We are currently recruiting for 2 Yard/Warehouse Labourers to join a busy structural steel yard. This is a fantastic opportunity for reliable and hardworking individuals looking to develop their skills within the steel industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Hanging metal components ready for the shot blasting process.
    Handling a variety of structural steel products, including railings, steel sections, wheels, and other metal items.
    Assisting with the preparation of materials for production.
    Carrying out manual handling and lifting duties, including heavier items where required.
    Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
    Supporting the wider production team as needed.
    Requirements:

    Comfortable carrying out manual handling and heavy lifting.
    A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
    Reliable with a strong work ethic.
    Previous warehouse, yard, manufacturing, or labouring experience is beneficial but not essential.
    Working Hours:

    Monday to Friday
    6:00am – 2:00pm
    30-minute unpaid lunch break plus two paid short breaks.
