How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    • Secure contracted pricing for raw materials and packaging that balances cost, quality, and long-term value
    • Oversee supplier contract development, renewals, and terms of trade with clarity and accountability
    • Define and manage supplier performance KPIs to monitor quality, service, innovation, and value

    Major Projects and Business Growth

    • Contribute to the development and operational setup of our new production site, ensuring supplier readiness and alignment
    • Support NPD and EPD projects with commercially sound and technically feasible sourcing strategies
    • Identify and manage supply risks to ensure continuity during periods of scale and innovation

    Forecasting, Reporting, and Collaboration

    • Work closely with the Demand Planner to align procurement activity with volume forecasts and strategic objectives
    • Co-own COGS reporting and forecasting with Finance, ensuring accuracy and visibility for planning
    • Collaborate with Technical, Operations, Marketing, and Finance to ensure aligned and effective product launches and decisions
    • Ensure the effective management of ingredient and packaging inventories, maintaining continuity of supply for production while optimising stock levels and supporting the company's cash flow objectives.

    Team Leadership and Mentorship

    • Lead and support the Purchasing Manager, helping them develop professionally and grow their skills
    • Build a positive, collaborative procurement culture focused on accountability, growth, and operational excellence

    What You’ll Bring

    Experience and Skills

    • Proven experience in procurement, ideally within organic, natural, or premium food manufacturing
    • Strong commercial acumen, with a history of successful supplier negotiations and long-term partnerships
    • Experience developing and managing KPIs across procurement and supplier performance
    • Demonstrated success in high-growth businesses, balancing agility with structure and keen pro activity
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
    • Ability to think strategically and act decisively with hands-on execution
    • Highly organised, with a structured and data-informed approach to reporting
    • Familiarity with Unleashed and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.) is a plus

    Mindset and Values

    • A genuine passion for organic, sustainable food and the mission behind Borough Broth
    • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a drive to build processes and systems that support long-term success
    • Self-motivated, pro active, responsible, and results-focused
