How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Nursery Manager
    Location: Prenton, Wirral
    Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
    Contract: Full-time, Permanent
    Start Date: ASAP

    TeacherActive is proud to be working with a well-established and welcoming nursery in Prenton that is seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead their dedicated team.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious early years professional with strong leadership skills and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding care and education for children. The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring high standards of safeguarding, learning and development, and regulatory compliance are consistently maintained.

    The role will involve:

    Leading and motivating a team of Early Years practitioners to deliver exceptional childcare and education.
    Managing the daily operations of the nursery, ensuring a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.
    Maintaining compliance with EYFS statutory requirements and Ofsted standards.
    Supporting staff through coaching, supervision, appraisals and professional development.
    Building strong relationships with children, families and external professionals.
    Monitoring occupancy, staffing levels and nursery performance.
    Managing safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of all children at all times.
    The successful candidate will have:

    A minimum Level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (Level 5 or above is desirable).
    Previous experience in a Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager role.
    Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework, safeguarding legislation and Ofsted requirements.
    Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
    The ability to inspire, motivate and develop a successful team.
    A passion for delivering high-quality early years education and care.
