How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Electrical Specialist – Epsom - £65k

    The Opportunity

    My client is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Specialist to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a strong electrical design background who enjoys technical problem-solving, reverse engineering, product development and supporting safety-critical engineering projects.

    The successful candidate will take ownership of electrically biased engineering activities, supporting the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of engineering processes, documentation and products while working closely with senior engineering personnel.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Develop, maintain and manage electrically biased engineering Job Packs, ensuring compliance with internal procedures.

    * Own and manage electrically biased engineering concessions and Engineering Changes (ECs).

    * Create, review, develop, certify and maintain electrical Bills of Materials (BoMs).

    * Manage electrical engineering documentation including drawings, manuals, technical data and associated records.

    * Design, specify, select and reverse engineer electrical components, systems and test equipment.

    * Conduct electrical investigations, technical analysis and research

    * Support engineering projects through technical assessments and problem-solving, ensuring high standards of quality and compliance.

    Requirements

    Essential

    * Minimum HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Avionics or another electrically biased engineering discipline.

    * Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals and their practical application to product design, fault diagnosis and technical investigations.

    * Experience in electrical design, reverse engineering and engineering analysis.

    * Knowledge of electrical testing systems, fault diagnosis techniques and root cause analysis.

    * Familiarity with engineering documentation including drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials.

    * Experience using CAD software.

    Salary: Up to £65k
