How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Location: Birmingham
    Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 Depending on Experience
    Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
    Hours: Monday - Friday - 08:00 - 17:00

    THE ROLE
    As a Paint Sprayer & Prepper - Multi-Skilled Technician, you will be responsible for preparing, refinishing, and completing high-quality paint repairs on a wide range of vehicles. You'll manage the repair process from preparation through to the finished product, ensuring every vehicle leaves the workshop to the highest manufacturer and customer standards.

    Key Responsibilities:
    ·Prepare damaged vehicles and replacement panels through sanding, filling, masking, and priming
    ·Mix and apply paint using manufacturer-approved paint systems
    ·Carry out colour matching, blending, polishing, and final finishing work
    ·Inspect completed paintwork to ensure a flawless, showroom-quality finish
    ·Complete paint rectification and quality control where required
    ·Work closely with Panel Technicians and MET Technicians to ensure efficient repair progression
    ·Maintain spray booths, equipment, and work areas in line with health and safety procedures
    ·Complete all repairs within agreed timescales while maintaining exceptional workmanship

    ABOUT YOU
    We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Paint Sprayer & Prepper who enjoys working across multiple stages of the refinishing process and takes pride in delivering outstanding results.
    ·Previous experience as a Paint Sprayer, Vehicle Prepper, or Multi-Skilled Paint Technician within an automotive bodyshop
    ·Strong knowledge of vehicle preparation, paint application, colour matching, and finishing techniques
    ·Experience using modern paint systems and manufacturer-approved repair methods
    ·Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality repairs
    ·Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining exceptional standards
    ·Positive attitude with excellent communication and teamwork skills
    ·Full UK Driving Licence
    ·ATA Accreditation advantageous but not essential
