How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Neurodevelopmental Speech & Language Therapist – Children & Young People (Autism Assessments)

    Rate: £30 per hour
    Location: West Midlands (Face-to-Face)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We're recruiting on behalf of a specialist healthcare provider for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist to join a multidisciplinary team delivering Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments for children and young people, on an agency (locum) basis.

You'll provide specialist speech, language and communication expertise within the ASD diagnostic pathway, supporting high-quality, evidence-based assessments and contributing to accurate clinical decision-making. You'll complete structured communication assessments, review information from families, schools and other professionals, and use your specialist knowledge to understand how communication differences impact everyday life, learning and relationships.

Working as part of a wider MDT, you'll contribute to diagnostic discussions, provide clinical reasoning to support formulation, and produce clear, neurodiversity-affirming reports with practical recommendations for children, young people and their families.

You'll be joining a supportive, clinician-led service that values collaborative working, high standards of clinical governance and delivering meaningful outcomes for families. Alongside your clinical responsibilities, you'll participate in supervision, service improvement activity and pathway development.

    What we're looking for:

HCPC registered Speech & Language Therapist.
Experience working with children and young people with autism and related communication needs.
Experience contributing to ASD diagnostic assessments within a multidisciplinary team.
Strong skills in speech, language and communication assessment, formulation and report writing.
Ability to integrate information from multiple sources to support clinical decision-making.
Understanding of safeguarding, neurodiversity-affirming practice and reasonable adjustments.
Experience using standardised communication assessment tools is desirable. For more information or to apply, reach out to Chris:
