How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Geo-Environmental Engineer

Are you a Ground Investigation Engineer looking to develop into consultancy? This Geo-Environmental Engineer role offers a genuine route into full project lifecycle delivery, with a level of flexibility that's hard to find elsewhere in the industry.

We're working with a well established environmental and geotechnical consultancy looking to bring on a Geo-Environmental Engineer with a ground investigation background and a real appetite to develop into technical reporting, interpretation, and client facing work. This Geo-Environmental Engineer role is based around the Stoke on Trent area.

This Geo-Environmental Engineer role is genuinely flexible, with the majority of your time working from home and only an office visit once every one to two weeks. You won't be tied to a desk, and you won't be tied to a rig either, this is about building a rounded skillset across the full project lifecycle.

Professional development is a real focus in this Geo-Environmental Engineer role, with chartership support built in from day one.

    What you'll get as a Geo-Environmental Engineer:

Genuine flexibility, home based with an office visit once every one to two weeks
Full project lifecycle exposure, due diligence, ground investigation, technical reporting, remediation and validation
    Weekly or fortnightly technical workshops
QA report reviews with senior staff to sharpen your reporting
Regular one to ones focused on your development and career direction
Chartership support and a clear pathway to build technical expertise
    Company van
    Flexi time
Bonus scheme up to 5 percent
A flat, approachable culture, with people who have 10 to 20 years experience in the business still hands on and happy to help
Direct access to senior staff and directors rather than layers of management
Genuine investment in training and long term career progressionWhat we're looking for in a Geo-Environmental Engineer:

Ground investigation background, comfortable working on site
Genuine interest in developing into technical reporting, interpretation, and consultancy delivery
Based in or commutable to the Stoke on Trent areaIf you've got GI experience and want to build a long term career as a Geo-Environmental Engineer within a consultancy that will genuinely invest in you, get in touch or apply today.
