How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Psychology Graduate – SEMH Learning Partner
    Location: Bristol
    Start Date: September 2026
    Pay: £90–£100 per day
    Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Are you a Psychology Graduate looking to gain hands-on experience supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs?
We are seeking a compassionate, resilient, and motivated individual to work on a 1:1 basis with a primary-aged pupil in a supportive Bristol school from September. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Speech and Language Therapy, Mental Health, or Social Work.
    The Role
As a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:

Build a positive and trusting relationship with a primary-aged pupil.
Support the child's emotional regulation and social development.
Help the pupil access learning within the classroom.
Implement behaviour support strategies and work alongside the class teacher and SENCO.
Provide consistent encouragement and reassurance throughout the school day.
Support the development of confidence, self-esteem, and independence.
Work closely with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals where required.

    The Ideal Candidate

Holds a degree in Psychology or a related subject.
Has a genuine interest in SEN, SEMH, and child development.
Is patient, empathetic, and emotionally resilient.
Has strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Understands behaviour as a form of communication.
Is able to remain calm and positive in challenging situations.
Previous experience working with children, young people, or vulnerable individuals is desirable but not essential.

    What the School Offers

A welcoming and supportive staff team.
Valuable experience working with SEMH needs.
    Ongoing training and development opportunities.
The opportunity to make a genuine difference in a child's educational journey.
A rewarding and varied role within a highly inclusive school environment.

This position would suit somebody who is passionate about supporting children with additional needs and is looking to gain meaningful experience in a school setting before pursuing a career in education, psychology, or mental health.
Apply today to secure a September start and begin your journey supporting young people to achieve their full potential.
