How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    We are looking for a qualified Electrician to join the Direct Labour Organisation (DLO) in the Estates department. Working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, you will be helping to deliver an excellent maintenance service direct to our customers.

    Starting Salary: £33,359 per annum, rising to £34,205 on 1st August after 1 year's full service. This is a full-time, open-ended position of 35 hours per week. Hours of work will normally be 8am to 4pm, with one hour for lunch. The salary includes an allowance of £3,400 per annum, paid in equal monthly instalments, to cover the following:
    You will be required to work 1 week in every 5 on the on-call rota. This will require you to work an additional hour each day between 4pm and 5pm, Monday to Friday. Stand by and call out weekends from 8am Saturday to 8am Monday. Any additional work carried out during your call-out will also attract an overtime payment of time and a half and double-time payments.
    We'd like to hear from you if you:

    Hold a recognised apprenticeship in electrical services, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification. 18th Edition IET Wiring regulations.

    Have experience of working within a reactive maintenance environment.
    Can work well as part of a team and independently.
    Are available to participate in a mandatory out of hours 1 week in 5

    'on-call' rota
    Can communicate and deliver excellent customer service.
