How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Safety  Compliance Manager
    Location: North Lincolnshire
    Salary: £55,000-£60,000

    As Safety  & Compliance Manager, you'll provide visible leadership across a complex operational environment, working closely with senior leaders to embed high standards, improve governance and drive continuous improvement. This role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact by shaping safety culture, ensuring compliance and supporting operational excellence.

    The Opportunity: As a Safety  & Compliance Manager you'll play a key role in:

    • Leading, developing and supporting a team of Health & Safety Facilitators to deliver effective compliance and assurance activities.
    • Setting clear safety standards and ensuring they are consistently understood and applied across all operational areas.
    • Providing visible leadership that promotes accountability, ownership and a positive safety culture.
    • Managing audits, inspections and assurance programmes to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure compliance with legal and internal standards.
    • Using performance data and insights to identify trends, prioritise risk-based improvements and strengthen the management of critical risks.

    Your work will directly contribute to creating a safer working environment, improving operational performance and ensuring compliance remains at the highest standard across the business.

    About You: We're looking for someone who can bring:

    • Significant Health, Safety and Environmental management experience, ideally gained within heavy industry or another high-risk operational environment whether it be Quarrying, Aggregates, Power, Cement, Chemical, Waste, Refineries, Steel, Recycling, Ports, Fertiliser, Foundries etc
    • NEBOSH General Certificate as a minimum qualification.
    • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent professional qualification is desirable.
    • Experience leading audits and applying compliance frameworks with confidence.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and drive meaningful improvements.
    • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at every level.
    • Proven leadership and coaching capability, enabling others to perform at their best.
    • A pragmatic, resilient approach with the confidence to challenge appropriately while building positive working relationships.
    • Good IT skills and the ability to work confidently with business systems and reporting tools.
