How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Heating Engineer

    Domestic Gas

    Eastbourne / Lewes, East Sussex

    Are you a Domestic Gas Engineer looking for unlimited overtime, paid travel time, funded training courses, and minimal call-outs?

    Do you want to work in a local patch with less time on the road and more time enjoying a healthy work-life balance?

    My client is one of the South's leading heating and building services specialists, delivering expert solutions across boilers, central heating, hot water systems, and renewable technologies. With over 50 years of success and an outstanding reputation for customer service, they continue to grow across both domestic and commercial markets. Due to the award of new contracts, they are now looking to recruit two Domestic Gas Engineers to join their East Sussex team.

    In this role, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing domestic gas heating systems, with very little installation work required. Working across Eastbourne and Lewes, you will benefit from a small local patch that minimises travel while allowing you to deliver a first-class service to customers. All work is completed in line with industry regulations, manufacturer guidelines, and company standards.

    This position would suit either a newly ACS-qualified Gas Engineer looking to develop their career or an experienced engineer seeking better work-life balance without sacrificing earning potential. The successful candidate will have at least two years' experience within plumbing and heating, hold current ACS gas qualifications, and possess a full UK driving licence.

    The Role

    Service, maintain, and repair domestic gas heating systems
    Diagnose and resolve faults on gas appliances and heating equipment
    Cover a dedicated East Sussex patch with minimal travel
    Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high safety standards
    Work closely with the wider team to ensure efficient completion of jobsThe Person
