How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Key Stage 1 Teacher

    Location: Ellesmere Port, Cheshire

    Salary: MPS (Main Pay Scale) / £130 - £160 per day (Supply option)

Academics is currently seeking a dedicated Key Stage 1 teacher to join a wonderful school community based in Ellesmere Port. This is a long-term position paid to the Main Pay Scale (MPS), though we also welcome applications from educators open to a daily supply rate of £130 - £160 if you are looking for immediate work while long-term roles are finalized.

    This role is ideal for a professional who loves fostering curiosity and foundational skills in young learners. As a Key Stage 1 teacher, you will be responsible for creating a vibrant classroom environment, managing phonics progression, and tracking pupil growth. Whether you are an experienced practitioner or an early career teacher looking to advance your practical background in education and training, Academics will support you every step of the way.

    Key Responsibilities for the Key Stage 1 Teacher:

    Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum for Year 1 or Year 2.
    Drive progress in early reading, writing, and numeracy within a supportive Ellesmere Port school.
    Manage classroom behavior effectively to foster a positive, safe learning atmosphere.
    Collaborate with teaching assistants and parents to support children of all abilities.What We Are Looking For:

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
    Proven experience working as a Key Stage 1 teacher with a deep understanding of early childhood development.
    A proactive attitude toward professional development and ongoing education and training.
    A current Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for a new one).
