How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Role: Adult Social Care Tutor / Health and Social Care Assessor
    Location: Hybrid – South West (Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton – travel required)
    Salary: Up to £35,000 (depending on experience)
    Contract: Permanent, full-time
      
    Role Overview
    We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Adult Social Care Tutor / Health and Social Care Assessor to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across Adult Social Care qualifications up to Level 5. This hybrid role combines remote delivery with face-to-face learner support, requiring travel across the South West region.
    As an Adult Social Care Tutor / Health and Social Care Assessor, you will support learners throughout their qualification journey, ensuring they develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to succeed within the adult social care sector. The role is ideal for either a qualified assessor or an experienced care professional looking to transition into training, with full support available to achieve relevant teaching and assessing qualifications where required.
      
    Key Responsibilities
    Teaching, Learning & Assessment

    Qualification Delivery: Deliver and assess Adult Social Care qualifications up to Level 5.
    Session Planning: Plan and deliver engaging sessions using blended learning methods.
    Inclusive Approach: Adapt delivery to meet individual learner needs and abilities.
    Skill Growth: Support learners to develop sector-specific knowledge, skills and behaviours.   

    Learner Support & Progression

    Learning Plans: Carry out initial assessments and develop individual learning plans.
    Coaching & Feedback: Provide regular feedback, coaching and guidance to support progress.
    Timely Completion: Motivate learners to achieve timely completion of their qualifications.
    Workplace Application: Support learners in applying learning directly to their workplace. Quality, Compliance & Administration

    Documentation: Maintain accurate learner records and e-portfolio documentation.
    Standards Compliance: Ensure delivery meets awarding body and compliance standards.
    Quality Assurance: Prepare for and contribute to quality assurance activities.
    Safeguarding: Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion in all learning. Delivery & Travel

    Blended Rota: Deliver a mix of remote (Teams) and face-to-face sessions.
    Learner Visits: Conduct regular learner visits (typically 2–3 per programme depending on location).

    Fully Funded Qualifications: Candidates with strong occupational experience but no assessing qualification will be fully supported to achieve their Assessor qualification and IQA qualification (where applicable).

    Essential Criteria

    Credentials: Recognised teaching or assessing qualification (e.g. TAQA, CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent).
    Sector Qualification: Level 5 or above qualification in Adult Social Care.
    Sector Training: Experience delivering or assessing Adult Social Care qualifications.
    Caseload Management: Strong organisational skills and the ability to effectively manage a learner caseload.
    Digital Literacy: Confident using digital platforms including Teams and e-portfolio systems.
    Logistics: Full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the region.   
    Desirable Criteria

    Quality Monitoring: Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) qualification.
    Advanced Training: Experience delivering Adult Social Care qualifications up to Level 5.
    Occupational History: Experience working within adult social care settings.
    Hybrid Models: Experience delivering in a blended or hybrid learning environment.   
    Additional Information

    Work Style: Hybrid role combining remote delivery with face-to-face learner visits.
    Coverage Area: Travel required across Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Southampton and surrounding areas.
    Compliance Checks: Role subject to relevant background and compliance checks.
