How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

A leading engineering and construction contractor is looking to appoint a Design Coordinator to support the delivery of major energy infrastructure projects across the UK.

Working within a growing Energy division, you'll support the coordination of multidisciplinary design activities across projects including substations, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), carbon capture facilities and other complex power and industrial infrastructure.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in design management, working alongside experienced Design Managers on high-profile projects from tender stage through to commissioning and handover.

The role offers hybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week based in either London or Glasgow.

    The Role

Reporting to the Design Manager, you'll play a key part in ensuring design information is coordinated, tracked and issued efficiently to support procurement, construction and commissioning activities.

Working closely with engineers, consultants, subcontractors and project delivery teams, you'll help keep projects on programme while ensuring design documentation is accurate, up to date and compliant.

    Key Responsibilities

    * Support the coordination of multidisciplinary design activities across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process and control disciplines.

    * Maintain design deliverable trackers and monitor progress against project programmes.

    * Coordinate and distribute design information between consultants, suppliers, subcontractors and project teams.

    * Assist with the management of technical submissions, RFIs, design queries and change control processes.

    * Attend design coordination meetings, record actions and track them through to completion.

    * Maintain interface registers, risk registers and design action logs.

    * Support the review and coordination of consultant, supplier and vendor design submissions.

    * Manage project information within Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and Common Data Environments (CDEs).

    * Provide document management support for procurement activities and vendor information.

    * Assist construction and commissioning teams with technical information and design documentation.

    * Support the compilation of as-built documentation and project handover packs.

    * Ensure all documentation complies with company procedures and document control standards.

    You'll ideally have:

    * A degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Services, Architecture, BIM or a related discipline.

    * 1–5 years' experience in a Design Coordinator, Engineering Coordinator, BIM Coordinator, Technical Coordinator or similar role.

    * Experience working on major construction, infrastructure, utilities or energy projects.

    * Knowledge of design management processes, document control and project coordination.

    * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

    * Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

    * Experience using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), Navisworks or similar collaboration platforms is advantageous.

    * Exposure to substations, BESS, renewable energy, power generation or industrial projects would be beneficial.

    * A desire to develop into a Design Manager in the future.

    What's on Offer

    * Opportunity to work on complex and high-profile energy infrastructure projects across the UK.

    * Hybrid working with flexibility between office, site and home.

    * Excellent career development and mentoring from experienced Design Managers.

    * Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

    * Long-term progression within a growing engineering and construction business.
