How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Strategic impact | National influence | Flexible working | Service development

    Shape a new national schools service as Senior Principal Educational Psychologist, combining strategic leadership with meaningful work across education, SEND and neurodiversity. This role offers the scope of an Educational Psychology Lead position, with genuine influence over service design and delivery.

    As Senior Principal Educational Psychologist, you will have autonomy to build a multidisciplinary team, develop inclusive practice and strengthen support for schools, children and families through a flexible hybrid model.

    Package & Benefits

    • £65,000 to £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
    • Hybrid working with flexible core hours of 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm or 10am to 6pm.
    • 25 days’ annual leave plus birthday leave, rising to 28 days after one year and 30 days after three years, plus bank holidays.
    • 5% employee and 5% employer pension contributions.

    This established multidisciplinary organisation delivers high-quality autism and ADHD assessments alongside trauma-informed training. It is developing a national schools service focused on inclusive, child-centred and neurodiversity-affirming support.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the development and delivery of a national schools service.
    • Provide strategic consultation, psychological advice and training to schools, trusts and families.
    • Recruit, develop and oversee a multidisciplinary team.
    • Maintain quality, governance and joined-up assessment pathways.

    About You

    • HCPC registration as an Educational Psychologist.
    • Substantial experience working with schools, children and families.
    • Experience leading professionals and developing services.
